Personality:
Eren is an odd boy, definitely unbalanced. By the standards of our "normal" world, he might even be considered borderline psychopathic, due to occasionally displaying a lack of empathy and remorse, especially in his younger years. Eren killed two men when he was nine to defend a girl he'd only just met. However, his world is not like ours. The world Eren knows is confined within three concentric walls, run by a government that stifles invention and destroys history books. Anything lying outside of the walls, including oceans, tundras, deserts, and even other human settlements, is completely unknown to him. The monarchy keeps an iron grip on the populace, using the threat of the man-eating Titans swarming outside the walls as leverage. He may have even remained as blissfully ignorant as the rest of the population, were it not for his best friend's forbidden books. Eren, like anyone, is very much the product of his environment. But to say his personality issues were completely environmental would not be fair.
Eren does have issues, many of them to do with a short temper and propensity for extreme violence. When he gets angry, people generally get hurt, including himself. As shown in his Titan form, he'll stomp on and mutilate his enemies even after they're long dead just for the pleasure of the kill. The death of his mother in the mouth of a Titan catalyzed and directed the violence in him, giving him a focus and leading to his vow to "destroy all the Titans". His rage was transformed from an indiscriminate explosion at anything and everything into to a finely honed blade pointed at Titans, and, later, the government that seeks to keep humanity caged. His anger ranges from horrifyingly violent and murderous to comical and useless, usually because of a disproportionate reaction to something seemingly minor, like his squadmates’ prodding.
Eren's two closest friends, Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Arlert, are very important presences in his life from his childhood onward. Mikasa is the girl that Eren became a killer to protect, after the men in question murdered her whole family and intended to sell her into slavery in the underground city. She was adopted into the Jaeger family and became like a sister to Eren. To repay him for saving her life, Mikasa becomes very protective of him, sometimes to the point of being smothering. While Eren certainly appreciates her protectiveness on some level, he grows irritated when she barely even lets him go to the bathroom by himself. While he is not as obvious about it, Eren cares just as much for Mikasa as she does for him. He rushes to protect her if she's injured or in need. He often feels inferior to her, thanks to how skilled she is at just about every aspect of being a soldier. Like all siblings, they sometimes fight, but they are always in one another's corner. His relationship with Mikasa is not always healthy, however. Like Eren, Mikasa can be very violent, and they can bring out the worst in each other when it comes to explosive outbursts.
Armin is Eren's friend from childhood. His parents were members of the Survey Corps, but perished, leaving the boy in his grandfather's care. Armin's family was in possession of several forbidden books that detailed the lands outside the walls. Therefore, Armin is directly responsible for Eren's passion about freedom thanks to giving him a taste of what they could be experiencing, shattering any complacency. Armin longs for freedom as much as Eren, but his weak appearance and opinionated views made him a target for bullies. Eren (and Mikasa) were frequently Armin's saviors. Eren is forever thankful for Armin, not only for his books, but for maintaining a level head when he and Mikasa often lost theirs. The trust Eren has for Armin, even as Armin begins to become more and more willing to do morally questionable things, is absolute.
In his youth, Eren didn’t really make many friends outside of Armin and Mikasa, thanks to his violent nature and a permanent lack of tact. It was through his friendships with the pair that Eren learned how to be somewhat civil as he grew up. Still, he tends not to filter anything he says, bluntly telling people exactly what he thinks of them and whatever is on his mind, calling his various cohorts unflattering names (“creepy”, “annoying”, and “weird” being examples) directly to their faces. During training, he matures significantly, and does manage to make friends with most of the other kids, though he is still honest about his thoughts and feelings. With a decent group of comrades under his belt, Eren's protectiveness really shines. Originally only shown towards Armin and Mikasa, Eren is quick to come to the aid of his allies with little concern for his own safety, and it's clear that he's gets attached pretty easily. Eren is so protective of his friends that he literally flings himself into a Titan’s open mouth to save one and is swallowed, already having lost an arm and a leg for his efforts.
When his friends are in need, Eren throws himself fully into the fray, with no regard for his own life or safety; he literally risks life and limb for those he is loyal to.
However, when Eren isn't a ball of Titan-killing, self-sacrificing fury, he can be surprisingly normal for a 15 year old boy, and his sense of empathy grows stronger as he gets older. Although he suffered traumatic experiences before Titans ever even re-entered the picture, his early childhood was otherwise sheltered and loving. As a result, he spends a lot of time being very confused by the cruel world and corrupt politics around him after being forced to leave his home in the Wall Maria behind. When he joins the military, he is disturbed -- but not surprised -- that the cruelty humans show each other, as well as the ignorance that the population is shrouded in, is actually institutionalized. Despite growing up in a culture that largely discouraged curiosity about the outside world, Eren’s nature is naturally inquisitive, especially when it comes to what lies beyond the Walls. In fact, his thirst for freedom, both literal and intellectual, is probably his most defining feature, even if his anger is the most outwardly obvious. Everything he does, everything he feels, including a large portion of his rage, is motivated by this dream. He dreams of destroying the Titan threat at any cost not only to avenge his mother and fallen comrades, but also to allow humanity to be free and once again live wherever they want. He's so passionate about this idealistic outlook that he has a hard time staying grounded in the reality of the world he lives in. He gets inordinately angry at those who he views to be content with the life of "cattle". He obstinately refuses to give up, or compromise on things that he feels strongly about, regardless of the negative consequences he might be bringing onto himself. He will continue along his set path to liberty tenaciously, even if it would be more logical or useful to change direction. His friends and superiors often have to physically convince him to give up on ideas that just aren't workable. This passion, naïveté, and optimism earn him the nickname "the suicidal idiot" from Jean, one of his classmates. In fact, he forms a typical rivalry friendship with Jean, and the two balance each other out well. Jean helps to keep Eren in line, making him stop and think before he acts, and reminds him of the gravity of their situation. Eren, in turn, brings Jean out of his cowardly shell and really inspires him to act as a leader. Both remind each other that it's alright to act like a bratty kid sometimes, getting into pointless arguments and calling each other names.
While he is usually reckless and self-confident, Eren is not always assured of himself. When he joins the Scouts, he discovers that he, initially, is unable to summon his Titan at will. Eren becomes depressed, feeling useless and fearing what will become of him if he can't use his special power, wondering what purpose he serves. After all, he was considered a somewhat mediocre soldier during training, with no real skills, especially when compared to Mikasa. He managed to make it into the top ten on pure tenacity. He relies on the compassion and belief of his friends and allies to recover his self-confidence.
Unfortunately, with attachment comes betrayal. When Reiner and Bertolt reveal that they are the Armored and Colossal Titans, Eren doesn't even believe them at first. When they transform, the pain of their betrayal becomes evident. Eren has a difficult time reconciling how kind Reiner had been to him with the monster that could destroy the walls and kill thousands of people. He was so stunned by Annie's true identity as the Female Type Titan that he was unable to take on his Titan form right away due to the emotional trauma. After all, Annie had been the one to teach Eren hand-to-hand combat, and she pointed out the problems with the way the military works. The concept that these people he had spent years of his life with were double agents completely devastated Eren. However, as with many things, he responds to pain with anger, and vows to kill them as slowly and painfully as possible. But no matter how many threats he makes, the deep wounds of treachery remain, and he wishes for all the world that it wasn't true. Does that mean he plans to show mercy to them? Not an ounce. This is because Eren has the ability to completely dehumanize those he disagrees with or wishes revenge on. By completely stripping them of redeemability in his mind, Eren can make the threats he does, even against people he once trusted and loved. In fact, he nearly decapitates Titan!Annie when he attacks her in Titan form.
That said, while Eren has passion in spades and incredible willpower, he doesn't seem to have a lot in the way of brains. In fact, in overall ratings, Eren only scores a three out of ten in "Wits". What he lacks in booksmarts, though, he makes up for in resolve and vitality. Eren simply does not know when to give up, and will keep getting back up in a fight until he can't move. In Titan form, he continued trying to kill other Titans even when both of his arms had been eaten off, but even as a human his tenacity is unrivaled. He is both pigheaded and impulsive, and rarely looks before he leaps. He's very lucky that he's way more durable than your average kid, thanks in part to his Titan powers. While certainly not as intelligent as Armin or some of the other recruits, Eren has a gift for eloquent and charismatic speech, and his words have moved his fellow soldiers to action. However, his lack of forethought often gets him into sticky situations, and it is up to his friends to save him. His pure will to survive and fight are an inspiration to his squad-mates. … When they aren't groaning and wondering why the hell they put up with the world’s most opinionated and angriest loudmouth.
Transported to the world of Pokémon, Eren is much less likely to show his violent and wrathful side. After all, this is a world without walls, one where he can see the ocean, eat whatever food he wants, and go where he pleases. Characters in VR are much more likely to see Eren as an excitable, even friendly kid who wants to see and do everything. However, that volcanic temper will always be there, right under the surface, ready to boil over at a moment’s notice.

Victory Road Sample: To say that Eren was culture-shocked upon his arrival in this world would be the understatement of the century. It might even be the understatement of the millennium. Not only had he found himself in a completely different world (who even thought things like that existed?!), but a world with no walls, no shortage of food, and, most importantly, no Titans.
No, there wasn't a single towering monstrosity in sight, and the locals had given him odd looks when he'd asked. What's more, there was such advanced technology! You could talk to someone, instantly, from halfway across the world! Eren can't help but think that if they had that sort of tech back home, the threat of the Titans would be as good as eliminated.
Oddly enough, the creatures known as "Pokémon" don't even register as the most amazing thing about this world, though they're very close. It seemed as if all the animals here were special in some way, unique. They had abilities far beyond those of normal animals. They could breathe fire, and control water, and even move the earth itself! They also seemed more intelligent than the animals he was used to.
Well...
For the most part, anyway.
The Pokémon he had been given to begin his journey was a large metal bird with sword-like wings. "Skarmory", the weird device had called it. A bird made of metal! Imagine that!
But his bird, who had yet to think of a good name for, didn't seem to be... all there. No, indeed. She seemed to be a bit of a bird-brain.
"B-bird!! Cut it out already!" he says, swatting the creature away. Skarmory seems incredibly focused, intent on something... Something sinister? Eren can only imagine. She squawks and chirps insistently at the boy, nudging him with her beak and gently hitting him with the blunt edges of her wings.
"Would you stop, you're going to give me bruises! I don't know what you want!"
Finally, Skarmory seems to get frustrated enough with this human hatchling, and it's time to take matters into her own talons. With a loud and shrill cry, she jumps at him, knocking into him with her keel-bone and the top parts of her feet.
"GAH! QUIT IT!"
It's too much for Eren, and taken off guard by the bird's attack, he falls over.
Exactly as planned. Skarmory makes a happy trilling sound and proceeds to sit on top of Eren (her young ward, her baby, her chick) and nestles her silvery feathers over him. He struggles as she makes herself at home on top of him, and she casually uses her beak to tuck his flailing arms and legs back in.
"Get...! OFF OF ME! I'm not an EGG, dammit!"
Yes, what an interesting world it was turning out to be.
